Detectives investigating historical claims of sex abuse linked to TV presenter Jimmy Savile have arrested a man in his 70s in London.
The man was arrested at 06:30 GMT on Wednesday on suspicion of sexual offences by officers from Operation Yewtree.
He is now in custody in a south London police station.
The Metropolitan Police would not name the man or give details about the allegations.
Savile, who died last year aged 84, was a Radio 1 DJ and the presenter of the Jim'll Fix It show on BBC One. The police say 450 victims have alleged abuse by Savile alone.
Seventh arrestThe man arrested on Wednesday is the eighth person - seven of whom have been under arrest - interviewed by police since the inquiry began.
Police said recently 589 alleged victims have come forward during their investigation of offences committed by Savile and others.
Operation Yewtree is the Met's investigation into allegations, some dating back decades, that have arisen since Savile was accused of abuse.

The operation, which has a team of 30 officers and has so far cost about £2m, has three strands.
One is looking specifically at the actions of Jimmy Savile and the second strand concerns allegations against "Savile and others".
The separate third strand relates to alleged complaints against other people unconnected to the Jimmy Savile investigations.
Scotland Yard said the latest man arrested fell under the strand termed "Savile and others".
High-profile names arrested in connection with the investigation are PR consultant Max Clifford, comedian Freddie Starr, DJ Dave Lee Travis and former TV producer Wilfred De'Ath, who all deny any wrongdoing. Gary Glitter, 69, whose real name is Paul Gadd, who was also arrested, has not yet made a statement.
BBC home affairs correspondent Matt Prodger said recently he believed the police have a total of 20 suspects who they wanted to interview.
An inquiry into the BBC's flagship current affairs programme Newsnight's shelving of a report on sexual abuse by Savile is due to publish its findings later.
The Pollard Review was set up by the BBC to see if there were "failings" in the management of the investigation.
In December 2011 Newsnight dropped its six-week investigation into claims Savile abused youngsters.
