The BBC's Judith Moritz on what is known about the charges as Stuart Hall arrives at court
BBC broadcaster Stuart Hall has pleaded not guilty to three charges of indecent assault.
The 83-year-old, from Wilmslow, Cheshire, entered his plea at Preston Magistrates' Court, which referred his case to the city's crown court.
He was charged in December following complaints to police about alleged incidents involving three girls aged between nine and 17.
Mr Hall was bailed ahead of his first appearance at crown court in April.
Lancashire Police said the offences were alleged to have been committed between 1974 and 1984.
Two of the charges relate to offences which were alleged to have occurred in Cheshire, with the third one said to have taken place in Lancashire.
Mr Hall is best known for his distinctive style of sports reporting on BBC Radio 5 live and his work on the 1970s TV show It's A Knockout.
He has been a familiar face and voice in British broadcasting for half a century and was appointed OBE in the 2012 New Year Honours for services to broadcasting and charity.
