The British and Irish Lions rode their luck to clinch a narrow victory over Australia in a riveting first Test match in Brisbane.
Wallabies wing Israel Folau scored two tries either side of a George North score, but Leigh Halfpenny's kicking gave the Lions a 13-12 half-time lead.
An Alex Cuthbert try extended the Lions' advantage before Kurtley Beale kicked Australia to within two points.
Replacement Beale then missed two late penalties as the Lions hung on.
His second attempt, in the dying seconds, floated short of the posts after he slipped on making contact with the ball.
The Lions have not beaten Australia in a series since 1989 with the Wallabies winning the last contest 2-1 back in 2001.
The second Test in Melbourne is on June 29, with the finale in Sydney on 6 July.
