Four people have died in a house fire in north Derbyshire.
The fire broke out at a house in Williamthorpe Road, North Wingfield, near Chesterfield before 05:00 GMT.
Derbyshire Police have confirmed two adults and two children have died. Another child is being treated in hospital for minor injuries.
A spokeswoman said Williamthorpe Road will remain closed for several hours. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
A neighbour said she had "heard next door thumping and banging" before the emergency services arrived.
Joy Cutliffe, another resident, said it was "really, really tragic and very upsetting, especially when children are involved".
BBC Radio Derby's Simon Hare said he had seen no obvious signs of fire damage on the front of the house.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said investigators were "keeping an open mind on the cause of the fire".
