An 83-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering his partner and her daughter.

Christine Lee, 66, and her daughter Lucy, 40, were found shot dead at a dog breeding farm near Farnham, Surrey, on Sunday morning.

John Lowe appeared before Guildford magistrates charged with two counts of murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Mr Lowe, of Tilford, Farnham, is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court later.

The body of one of the women was found inside the main building at the farm, called Keepers Cottage Stud, while the body of the other woman was found outside, near the animal pens.

Post-mortem examinations concluded both women died as a result of being shot.

Four dogs - three German shepherds and a Labrador - were also found shot and were removed from the farm.
