Nicola Sturgeon will send a message of "friendship and solidarity" to the people of the rest of the UK during her speech to the SNP conference.
Scotland's first minister will tell activists in Glasgow that SNP MPs would help bring about "positive change" for ordinary people in Scotland and beyond.
Ms Sturgeon will vow to be an ally of those across the UK seeking to reform the "discredited" Westminster system.
And she will demand an alternative to "slash and burn austerity".
Balance of power
About 3,000 people are expected to attend the SNP conference at the SECC.
The party's membership has quadrupled in the six months since the independence referendum to about 100,000, making the SNP the third largest political party in the UK.
There are just six Scottish National Party MPs at Westminster at the moment but polls suggest that number could rocket at the general election, with the party forecast to take almost all of Scotland's 59 seats in the House of Commons.
That could leave the SNP holding the balance of power if neither Labour nor the Conservatives gains an overall majority.
So Nicola Sturgeon's address has been crafted not just for voters in Scotland but for a UK audience.
'Outdated'
In a draft of her speech released by the party, Ms Sturgeon said: "To ordinary people across these islands who feel just as let down by the out of touch Westminster system as we do, I have a very clear message. It is a message of friendship and solidarity.
"As long as Scotland remains part of the Westminster system, we will be your allies in seeking to shake up and reform that outdated and discredited system once and for all.
"Westminster needs to change. To be more responsive to the needs and demands of ordinary people, wherever they are in the UK."
The first minister is also expected to outline plans to extend the Educational Maintenance Allowance scheme.
An additional 10,000 school pupils are to become eligible and, for the first time, support will be provided under the scheme to part-time college students.
Ms Sturgeon is expected to say: "When the Tories abolished the Educational Maintenance Allowance in England, we retained it in Scotland.
"That allowance provides a payment of £30 a week to pupils from the least well-off families, to enable them to stay in school.
"For many of these young people, it makes the vital difference between them being able to continue in education and being forced to leave to find employment."
